Position Summary/Objective
The purpose of this position is to provide mechanical, electrical, and process control support for all warehouse systems as well as facility maintenance and avoid down time. The person in this position works closely with managers, supervisors and other maintenance team members to keep all warehouse systems running efficiently and smoothly.

Essential Functions

  1. Monitor and maintain all essential warehouse equipment, including: automated picking systems, conveyors, electrical systems and components, etc.
  2. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks and troubleshooting of equipment, including: checking, cleaning, or repairing. Rectify issues with automation equipment. Perform An OSR shuttle change as part of inspection and cleaning (25%).
  3. Troubleshoot equipment issues and rectify problems (25%).
  4. Collaborate with managers to repair or install new or existing equipment (12.5%).
  5. Perform general facility maintenance and facility repairs and upgrades as needed (25%).
  6. Attend meetings as required. Analyze documents to provide information on components in the field and generate new ideas to improve efficiency for building and controls. Manage email and order parts as needed (12.5%).
  7. Maintain compliance with all legal and safety guidelines as well as company policies and procedures.

Work Environment
This position operates in a variety of environments, which can be quiet or noisy, hot or cold, depending on the work to be accomplished. This position receives periodic supervision.

Competencies
Written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, time management, teamwork, problem solving ability, collaboration skills, computer navigation skills (including MS Office Suite), telephone and cell phone skills, and email skill. Ability to use hand tools to diagnose and repair equipment and use electrical meters to test and diagnose electrical equipment. Strong electrical and mechanical skills and solid experience in working systems in PLC logic and electrical schematics. Requires documentation skills, accuracy, and detail orientation.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand for long periods of time, walk, bend, sit, use hands and fingers to use tools and equipment, use a computer, mouse, telephone, or other equipment. Requires frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs., reaching, working in awkward positions, working with poor illumination, high or low temperatures, and repetitive activities. Requires visual acuity to read, as well as mental concentration.  Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle emergencies and changing priorities.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position oversees the work of one or more Maintenance Mechanics.

Travel
Work related travel is not required in this position.

Required Education and Experience
Two-year college degree or equivalent training
Three to five years of hands-on related maintenance experience
Solid foundation of working systems in PLC logic and electrical schematics
Training in OSHA, PPE, and LOTO

Preferred Education and Experience

Security Clearance/Background Check
If required.
